Book sale

The student Association Politeia organises the book sale at the beginning of each semester. You will receive all information about books and courses on the Introduction Day and at the start of the academic year.

Laptop

For education at Ghent University you will need a laptop. For most courses a basic laptop in good working order will be sufficient. We’ve compiled a few guidelines and tips.

Student counsellors

Our student counsellors are a confidential and easily accessible poin t of contact for all questions concerning study attitude, study planning and study skills. They offer guidance to students in their search for solutions to study related problems and support specifically several courses of the first year of the bachelor programs.

Learning path counsellor

The learning path counsellor provides individual counseling concerning the student's personal study career and progress. After the first bachelor she functions as an immediate contact person for guidance concerning study choices, optionals, possible individual learning paths or possible re-orientation.

Faculty Student Administration (FSA)

The Faculty Student Adminstration (FSA) is responsible for the administrative aspects of the student data, such as the curriculum and the results of a student.

Academic Calendar and Schedule

Consult the academic calendar to find out when classes start. You can find your personal schedule via Oasis (based on your curriculum). Log in with your UGent account and click on 'my calendar'.

Introduction Day

On the Introduction Day at the beginning of the academic year, you will get to know each other, the monitorate (study and learning path counsellors), your study programme and the student associations. You will receive practical information to get you started right away!
