You work for a consultancy firm and need to verify details from a job applicant.
The legislation on the protection of privacy
The legislation on the protection of privacy prohibits us from sharing information about (former) students to a third party.
This means that we cannot inform you whether an applicant/employee has obtained a degree at Ghent University or not.
Verification by third parties
We can, however, verify the authenticity of documents issued by Ghent University.
If you send a clear copy of a document issued by Ghent University (a diploma/a certificate/an attestation) to verifications@ugent.be, we will be able to inform you if it is genuine or not.
Since academic year 2015-2016 Ghent University documents have an authenticity code.
With this code you can verify the authenticity of the document online.
